In 1991, 3 couples, Rob and winona Heydenrych, Elize and late Gellie Geldenhuys and Chris and Linda Walters, got togeter to discuss starting a streetrod club.

On the 28th August 1991, together with a few other rodders, they decided to have a run with lunch meeting at The Avalon hotel. The Cape Town streetrod club was born.

Meetings were held monthly at the Geldenhuys/' studio and alternatively at Danie Gunther/'s Garage.

As the club grew, they made arrangements to rent the Multi car club house for their monthly meetings. Up till today, this is the venue for their meetings.

We also have the oldest member of the Streetrod club in South Africa, Chris Walters and he is still actively involved in the club and streetrod scene.
