Constitution
The objective of the club is to enjoy our common interests, share our knowledge, promote and maintain the street rodding activity and encourage new membership.
A person whising to join the club has to be nominated by a member that has bee a part of this club for at least one year. He/She must also fill in an application and sign a declaration.
Upon acceptance of the nominee by the committee, the applicant must be prepared to pay a year's subscription fee as decided at the annual general meeting each year. If you don't pay your fees your membership will expire.
A member must register every 2nd year his/her cars to qualify for any certificates or trophy's. Only cars 10 years and older will qualify to be registered as a street rod.
Club meetings take place on the third tuesday of each month. The committee shall meet on the first monday of each month. The annual general meeting will be held in August of each year, when subs are payable.
The new committee will be voted in every second year immediately after the streetrod Nationals. At any time the club may vote on or off a committee member.
The committee will consist of the following posts:
Chairman - Club representative who chairs club meetings, has the power of veto on votes and signing power on cheques.
Vice-chairman - Shares the responsibilities of the chairman, takes charge of runs, shows and motoring events.
Secretary - Keeps records of all meetings and events and takes charge in club events
Treasurer - Manages all finances, does the banking, presents a balance sheet when called for and has signing power of all cheques together with the chairman, or any other committee member.
The committee may appoint members to carry out certain duties.
At the discretion ot the committee, it may bestow upon deserving members a honorary member status. An honorary member will mean he or she who has earned the title as a result of long membership or exceptional contribution to the clubs activities. A honorary member is no longer required to pay subs.
STRICTLY NO DRUGS are allowed to be used or possessed by any member of this club. Any member found to have used drugs or who is under the influence or worse, in posession of drugs, will be suspended from the club indefinately.
NO RECKLESS DRIVING is allowed by any member on club functions etc.
The club will strive to accumulate funds to subsidise functions be held during the financial year.
Cape Town Street Rod Club are a non frofit organization
Rules
Any person wishing to join the club must complete an application form and must be nominated by a fully-fledged member.
Upon acceptance the member must pay a membership fee of X amount per annum and a car registration fee payable every 2nd year.
The club is a non profit organization and all monies collected will go towards entertaining club members (only husband and wife) and club activities. No Children will benefit out of these monies!
This club is not for men only, but for the wifes and kids also. Members are encouraged to bring their friends and families to meetings and outings.
The club meetings are every 3rd Tuesday of every month at 19H30 at the club house, Jan Burger Sports ground, Parow-north.
The club will not tolerate drugs or drinking. Any member found to be under the influence or in possession of drugs will be suspended from all club activities, meetings etc. for an indefinate period.
The club moot is "Road safety" and as such must be adhered to at all times.
Any member who has a complaint concerning the club, is asked to air his/her complaint at the club meeting where it can be discussed, or to contact any of the club committee members
No monies may be refunded to any member whising to terminate his/her membership.
The club does not hold itself responsible for accidents, injuries or damage of any kind what so ever.
No Person will interfere with the wife, girlfriend or husband of another clubmember. If this should happen the guilty person will be asked to resign from the club.
When members book for a function and they don/'t show up, will still pay for their bookings plus a R50-00 penalty fee.
All members must take part in all club events
Every member must try to be at least at 9 of the 11 clubmeetings during the year.
